1 Transported Following Kitchen Fire in Webster

Webster, Mass. - At approximately 5:40 pm on Friday, January 13th, 2022, the Webster Fire Department was dispatched to 10 Indian Point Rd for reports of a stove fire with flames reaching the ceiling and an occupant still inside.

A Webster Police Officer was the first on the scene and reported no visible flames from the outside of the building and all occupants had made it out of the residence under their own power.

Firefighters quickly made entry into the home finding a fire in the kitchen as initially reported, prompting an upgrade to a working structure fire assignment. The fire was reported to be knocked down at approximately 5:56 pm and crews remained on the scene for over an hour overhauling.

Webster EMS transported 1 resident to UMASS Webster for smoke inhalation. The American Red Cross was also requested to assist the resident.

Agencies who responded, or were dispatched, included the Webster Fire Department, Webster EMS, Webster Police Department, Dudley Fire Department, and the Douglad Fire Department.
