One Dead After Vehicle Strikes Tree in Oxford

Oxford, Mass. - One person has died following a single vehicle accident on Conlin Rd Friday evening.

At approximately 9:38 pm on Friday, September 9th, a 1st alarm assignment was struck for the Oxford Fire Department, EMS, and Police units for a car versus tree accident with at least one person trapped in the area of 23-25 Conlin Rd.

Oxford Police officers were the first on scene and found one person outside the vehicle with injuries, and another still in the driver's seat with apparent, non-survivable, injuries. The Oxford officer immediately relayed his findings to the Oxford dispatch center and requested the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Collision Reconstruction Team to the scene. Upon the arrival of EMS personnel, the driver was confirmed to be fatally injured. The passenger was transported at the advanced life support level to UMASS University in Worcester, MA.

Conlin Rd will be shut down for an extended period to allow units to conduct their investigation.
